Cutest Pink Baby Shower! Part II

This is the continuing post on the very PINK baby shower that I had for my daughter.

If you missed Part I you can see it HERE.

In the first post, I showed you some decor and the Sign-In Table with a couple of games.

Let's move on to the dining tables...

I used my handy Silhouette electronic cutting machine to make a lot of my decor for this shower.

Let's take an overview of the

It's a Girl!

It seems that

I have been buried

this winter with

living and breathing

Baby Girl stuff!

You see, my daughter is having our first granddaughter in April...

And I have been working and having fun, making and planning the cutest and pinkest baby shower!

I bought these invitations at Hobby Lobby. They already had the ribbon and "It's a Girl" on them, so all I had to do was design

Birthday Surprise Box Cards!

I just had the most fun making these little Birthday Surprise Boxes that are also Cards!

See the surprise inside? It's a cute little paper cake!

I did use my Silhouette cutting machine to make these but you could just use scrapbooking punches and simple straight cuts.

The side edges of the box were just cut away so when the lid is raised, the box will fall open to reveal the

Beautiful Book Page WALLS!

I was so OVER my stripe wallpaper...

I had been wanting to put book pages on my walls FOREVER...

After much thought...

I came up with the perfect idea!

To refresh your memory...

The study walls had Waverly stripe wallpaper. A few years ago (probably longer than a few), I was at Lowe's and found clearance wallpaper...3 rolls to be exact that I bought for a whopping $3. At the

Believe in Tomorrow

I do 'Believe in Tomorrow'!

Though this ChalkArt was not my original ideal...

I found this idea in a magazine recently

but forgot the name of the magazine.
The trick to getting your chalk art to look dark and good is to wet the chalk for a second under running water. When you use this wet chalk, it will look pale and kind of weird, but as it dries right before your very eyes, it

Map + Deer = Wall Art

My brain is in creative mode most all the time. And I wanted to make something unusual for my grown son, who lives in Kansas and is a hunter.

First, I came across a 1965 map of Kansas. You know the kind that your parents kept in their glovebox and they could pick up at gas stations! I knew I could do something with it for his new farmhouse.

I painted a deer head silhouette on the left side

My Winter Putz Houses!

German verb putzen, which means "to clean" or "to decorate." Mass-produced cardboard Christmas villages became popular in the US during the early and mid-20th century, while porcelain versions became popular in the later part of the century.

These two above, I hand cut and made...a lot of work, but then I won a Silhouette and found them on their site...
Now my machine cuts them out and I

Where have you lived?

I had been working on Christmas gifts and this is one of the projects that I did for my 23 year old daughter, Lisa.

These three framed states represent the three states that she has lived in so far. Lisa was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Quincy, IL.

She is currently living in Madison, Wisconsin. Using my Silhouette Cutting Machine, I cut out each state shape and had the cutter

Songbook Page Christmas Tree

I have a wreath that I made using rolled music book pages...

And thought, "Hey why not make another shape out of the same rolled up pages".

Plus, I wanted to show you early enough so that you could make one for Christmas if you so felt the desire!

I started with a clear plastic cone shape like this, but you can use any cone made out of different material like heavy card stock...

Edgar's Bed!

This story is pure Kismet.

Here's my story as it happened!

In our new hobby garage, we have an attic storage space above with a drop down ladder.

I was up there selecting furniture to bring down to paint.

As I was stacking things up for Hubby to help carry down, I stacked an old vintage leather suitcase on top of this...

I noticed that the suitcase fit the top of this stool base

Summer Banner

Welcome to Summer!

My Favorite Season

To Celebrate it,

I made a

Summer Banner!

Using furniture webbing, old sheet music and scrapbooking supplies, I designed this!

Fun to make.

Cute to look at!

Hanging Map Light!

What a cool and fun project this was...

And so easy to do!

Here's how I did it...

My daughter moved out of state and when she left our rental house, she left this behind...

A simple paper shade.  Now I can't take credit for what I am about to show you because I saw it somewhere...I just don't remember where!

Knowing me, I didn't want to throw away a good paper lantern, so I got out

Be My Valentine Giveaway!

This year, I decided to get out my hand painted jello mold tree that I normally only display during Christmas in my kitchen.

I removed any ornaments that looked Christmasy, then added red glass heart ornaments tied with black and white check ribbon.

Now it's officially my "Be My Valentine Tree" as part of the limited amount of Valentine decor that I have.

I haven't had a

Putz House & Tie Skirt

Since all the decorating is done,

I have been having a bit of fun.

I have always wanted to make a cute little paper house. In doing research on them, I found out the name of these sweet houses are putz houses.

I googled them and came across a pattern to use. I used this pattern...

I think it came out so cute and was a fun little glitter project.

Here is a great website with

Shabby Dress Form Belt

I decided to undress my Dress Form

and display her differently.

Initially, I had her dressed in my wedding dress.

But before that, she was a $2.50 garage sale find.I covered her in book pages and loved the outcome.
Then, I recently saw this picture (below) for new inspiration for her.So, I went to my sewing room and found a lace and muslin valance that I paid 50¢ at a garage sale

Snowflake Wreath

I knew it in my gut. I knew it was wrong. Not finished. Not attractive enough.

Us decorators know. We just do,  and this was wrong and I am here to admit it and fix it.

What am I talking about?

This...

This so called bookpage-decoupaged-songbook rose-snowflake-wreath that I created last winter.  I just called it good and moved onto another project until it surfaced again in this post HERE.

My Winter 2012 Mantel

As promised, here is a picture overload of My Winter 2012 Mantel.

First, I need you to know that it is challenging to decorate my mantel because it is over 8 1/2 feet long and is  5 1/2 feet high. The height makes it difficult because, one is viewing the mantel in an upward fashion vs. straight on. The sheer size of the mantel makes it hard to decorate because I have to fill the space with
