My latest Crush - Asus Zenfone 6

You can call me gadget geek. I just love trying my hands on latest in technology devices and appliances. I love the fact that how technology is shaping our lives and can be a great help, provided you are using it in proper manner and for better. For me it has always been a great help, be it blogging, online interaction with clients, raising a tech wizard kid or fun with family and friends far away from me, I always need a good device that is packed with latest technology. Sometimes this is how I work.....

Asus Zenfone 6

Recently I have been given Asus Zenfone 6 to use and write my experiences about it. I have been using Zenfone 6 since past 4-5 days and found it quite impressive phone. It is the most beautiful phone that I have ever used. It has very useful features and it's quite robust mobile.

Zenfone Review

How I am using Zenfone 6:
Lets see how I am using it. I found some unique features in Zenfone 6 and here they are...

Sleek and light:
The moment I picked up the Zenfone 6, the very first thing that I noticed about it is, it's sleek body and light weight, which is 196 gms only. It perfectly fits in my palm but, yes, I have to use other hand to operate it. Back cover of this mobile is in a matte finish that allows perfect grip. My earlier phone's screen shattered because of its glossy back, that doesn't allow perfect grip and it slipped from my hand. Zenfone 6 screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which is a benefit for user like me.
Though it's a bigger phone but, it fits perfectly in my jeans pocket, bigger and better it is. And because  of its light weight I will give few extra marks to Zenfone 6, because unlike my previous phone I can hold Zenfone 6 for longer with feeling any discomfort or pain in my hand.

Zenfone 6 Review

Bigger Screen:
Zenfone 6 screen is quite bigger. With its 6 Inches LCD display, it is a large beautiful phablet. I loved the device for its better and wider display. Brightness level offered by display is quite good that results in brightly lit visuals. I love watching videos and playing games on Zenfone 6  because of amazing picture and graphic quality. I am a big music lover. I love to listen to music whenever I am stressed out but, with Zenfone 6 not only I enjoy music, but I can write my blog post also at the same time. Isn't that icing on the cake.

ZenFone 6 Review

One more thing that I liked a lot about Zenfone 6 is its touch, which is quite sensitive and accurate. I faced lots of problem with touch screen of my previous mobile. Thankfully Zenfone 6 offers wider screen and sensitive touch, now no more typing mistakes. Writing a blog post and replying to mails have become pretty easier and time saving. With my previous mobile it was a hassle to write post, upload pictures in a blog and then editing a post. I tried writing blog post using Zenphone 6 and I was quite amazed with the result. I wrote the entire post with great ease.

Zenfone 6 Review

See the size of virtual keys in type pad, it allows your finger tip to freely tap the specific key. Zenfone 6 earned extra bonus in terms of touch screen sensitivity and accuracy. You can switch to glove mode too when you are using the phablet with gloves on, useful feature specially in winters.

Zenfone 6 Review

I am exploring the device and finding something new, exciting and extra ordinary everyday, I will share more of Zenfone 6 unique features and how I am using it. Stay tuned!!

Coming up next "Lippan work panel made by me".

Gratitude!!

I have so much to be thankful for. As the new year begins I strongly feel that it's a time to say 'thank you' to each and every one of you. You all have been my strength, courage & support throughout my blogging journey. I was nothing and you all made me a beautiful person, I feel content and happy all the time. I find myself very fortunate that I got connected with such wonderful and lovely people in this virtual world of blogging. Now I have friends from many different countries, religions and cultures and that's what I love about blogging.

Thankfulness

I am grateful to God for giving everything that I had in the past, I have today and will have in future. I am grateful to my parents, siblings and my wonderful, lovely, sweet & small family for their endless support and selfless love, for their precious time that they spend with me and make me feel special, for their encouraging words that keep me going, I couldn't ask for more. I am grateful to all fellow bloggers who are always there to help and keep inspiring me. I am grateful to you all my friends and readers, you never fail to encourage and support me, no matter in which part of the world you are, you are always there for me whenever I need you. Thank you! Thank you very much.

I would like to thank those friends too, who always see negative in me, who try to put me down, who always discourage me and try to create negativity around me, who criticize me in every way possible, who never even congratulate me on my success, people....believe me you are my best friends because you bring the best out of me. Every time you try to put me down I rise and run with strength double than earlier. I am very grateful to you friends, but I request you to stop being jealous, instead be grateful for what all you have got, as gratitude blocks toxic emotions :) look in the mirror, think about me and SMILE :) kill those toxic emotions as soon as possible.

My dear friends and readers, I read somewhere and would like to share the secret to happiness with you, it's Gratitude!!
"Gratitude is not only the greatest virtues, but the parent of all the others".
                                                                                                                   -Cicero
Secret to happiness is- express gratitude, practice kindness, spread cheer and savor joy. I have experienced this many a times that when you become grateful for everything that happens in life, you see the world with new eyes, you find yourself calm, happy and content, your life becomes full of wonderful opportunities.

Thankfulness

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my dear friends Vandana and Nayana, who sent very beautiful and thoughtful gift for me. Thanks girls!! We joined a wonderful group on FB called 'Urban Gardeners Around The World' and we decided to send some gardening related gifts to each other. This is what I got. I am a happy girl now :)
Nayana sent me beautiful wooden trinket box, lovely dangler and cinnamon sticks. I loved them all :)

Thankfulness

Vandana sent me fabulous orange watering can planter and very classy Varnam box. What lovely friends and what beautiful gifts :)

Following Design Trends On The Venue

Since the day I got Dell Venue tab I have been praising its awesome features. Now let me praise a little more about my latest crush: My Venue tab.

Being a design blogger I always try to keep myself updated about design trends. But at the same time I play so many other roles too like mommy, wife, home maker, blogger, artist, crafter & list goes on. I am so occupied that I am hardly left with time to keep myself updated about latest design trends and that's a disaster for design blogger.
But then technology is always there to save you from such disasters. I am talking about my Dell Venue tab. No matter how busy I am, I can quickly search about latest design trends on Venue, while I am cooking, helping my son with his homework or cleaning (I can listen to audios). Just connect to the internet (that happens in jiffy), make search and a lot about design trends is there right in front of you.

Dell Venue 8

You know logging in to laptop and then keeping it in your hand all the time while you are doing other things can be struggling but, with Venue it has become easier. Just a push of button and it starts working, open the browser and search for latest design trends, take it to the kitchen, keep it there, do all your cooking and at the same time you can listen to the audios or can take a quick look at a short video too. Last night I read about some latest design trends on Venue while I was helping my son with his home work. When he needed my help I just pushed the off button, kept tab aside, helped him and then just pressed start button and resumed reading without any hassle.

Dell Venue 8

I got few mails from my readers who read my earlier posts on Dell Venue, asking me about the features of Venue and advice on should they buy this tab or not.  I would recommend this tab as it's economical, loaded with some very nice features, easy to carry & light weight.
Thanks to all who enjoyed my video 'Designing With Dell' I am overwhelmed with the response I received. The video got more than 250 hits in just 2 weeks which I never expected as it was my first video.
I case you haven't read my earlier posts on Dell Venue Tab read them by clicking links below :

Design Inspiration For Monsoon With Dell Venue

You must have seen my earlier post on how Venue is helping me in blogging. Today I am
sharing some design inspiration for monsoon using Dell Venue.

Monsoon has already arrived and I know I am posting this very late but then too I can't help sharing this with you all. I wanted to do something in my living room that goes well with this lovely season. I have one wall that is bare, dull and ugly or I can say it's like my blank canvas where I can play with my imaginations and do you know Dell's Venue has been a great help. I can visualize my ideas and imagination so well with the help of Venue tab. It has made my blogging and designing much easy.

I had some ideas in my mind to jazz up that wall, so I just clicked the image of the wall and then used Venue and searched some art prints/paintings suitable for monsoon. Then I tried different  pictures and their orientation on wall and that I did on Venue tab only. It gave me fare idea that which orientation will look good. Here are some orientations that I tried. Below is image of bare wall............

Now these are some orientation that I tried. Easy for me to choose one from these.

Next I planned to changed the look of my sofa. I wanted something that perks up my room instantly and adds the cheer. Then adding cushions according to the season is the easiest way to change the overall look. Here is what I did that too with the help of Venue. Here is my sofa that is in desperate need for some change...

And here is how I wanted it to look like.........

Next thing was to give coffee table a look that is according to the monsoon. I wanted to add either shells or pebbles. Now trying both the arrangements actually with one super active kid in tow was a time consuming process. Venue came to rescue at this point too. I clicked images and tried to visualize my ideas. Here is what I did... some images from internet and some image editing.....viola!! Venue tab gave me fare idea about the best possible look of my coffee table for monsoon.

Now that I know what will going to look good in my living let me gear up to make these changes as soon as possible for the monsoon (before it ends....finger crossed).

Did you make some changes in your decor for monsoon. Please let me know!!

Designing With Dell Venue 8

Dell's newly launched Venue 8 tab is what I am using for blogging these days.
I must admit that I loved its features. Being a design blogger I need lot of images and work on several design projects at a time. Venue has made it real simple and easy for me to click fine images with this tab and then directly insert it in my post without any hassle.

For design projects earlier I used to draw so many sketches to conceptualize the design and then tried to visualize them that how it will going to look once the design is complete and believe me I hated the overall process but with Venue it has become much easier. I click the image of object/place with the tab that I am going to design and then with the help of some image editing software online, I am done. Voila!! I never had so many images to conceptualize my designs in such less time that too without any hassle.

For an instance I was doing a balcony designing project recently and for that I needed to conceptualize the design. I clicked the image of the wall with Venue tab and then I went berserk with my imaginations and then after a while I had good number of designs to show my client and she happily and easily chose one out of them according to her taste.
Let me show you a video of everything that I am doing with this Venue 8 tab. I never made video of myself not even for DIY tutorials on my blog but  all thanks to Dell for giving me this opportunity to make one. Here is my first video where I am showing some best features of Venue those are really helpful for design blogger like me.

Now my dear readers let me know two things that I am desperately waiting to know from you:
1. What do you think of Venue 8 tab and its mind blowing features.
2. How do you find my first ever video :)

More about Venue 8 will be coming soon on my blog. So stay tuned!!

Tech Talk: Dell Venue 8

So this post is something different from what I usually write about on my blog. Yes I am talking about technology today. You all are aware of the fact that my blog is design and lifestyle blog but writing a blog wouldn't have been possible without technology and saying that I admit that I am technology freak.
I have used so many gadgets and devices for blogging from desktop to tab, laptop to mobile but, my all time favorite was my Dell laptop that helped me achieve my dreams and in past 4 years I didn't keep it away from me even for a day though sometimes I found that it's not that handy and can't be easy to use on the go.
Then one fine day I got something very handy and designed for life on the go. It's Dell's newly launched Venue 8 tab. The day I got it and explored its features I became a fan of it. Lets have a look what I am talking about:

Happiness is...........Blogging!!!

Today it's conversation between you and me and no one else. Yes today I just want to talk to my lovely, precious readers. No design and decor today it will be about Disha (of course me)  :) So just sit back and relax. Have your cuppa and enjoy this conversation.
I am a person who is raised in such a way that I can never sit idle even for a second. So when my kid grew little older and started doing things by his own I got some spare time on my hands and little did I know that the spare time I got will change my life forever. So once when I was searching for home decor ideas on internet in my spare time I stumbled upon some interesting design blogs and I read them all in depth. Then instinct to write my own blog was born and I started writing my own blog in October 2010  but that definitely wasn't a serious blogging that was just start, an experiment and a learning phase. I loved it totally and slowly it became a part of my life. A very important part of my life. After several changes from blog banner to themes, fonts to header & footer, side bars to tabs I was finally satisfied with the look, feel and appearance of my blog in early 2013 (yeah took a long time). Having my hands full of responsibility I always run short of time and I know blogging needs lot of time, hard work, efforts and dedication but I am slowly and steadily reaching towards it.
When I started blogging I didn't knew anything about it. It's only 'Blogging' and nothing else that has taught me how to blog. Though my writing skills and way of blogging has changed a lot during this journey but the intention to write a blog is still the same. You can read my first post here and you will know what I mean.

I was passionate about art, craft, and decor so I just shared everything that I knew. There were days when I waited patiently for readers to come on my blog, read my post and leave a word or two.......it didn't happen so soon!! But I kept writing because I find it interesting and I loved it. For me sharing is caring and slowly you all started visiting me and encouraging me :)))) Happpy me!! In my blogging journey I came across so many wonderful, like minded and talented people. My fellow bloggersfans, followers and readers always encouraged me. All of you brought the best out of me and thanks to each and everyone of you for that.
I featured so many inspiring artists and blogger on my blog and not to mention l learnt a lot from them. My posts about different Indian art forms are loved by one and all. You all gave so much love to my 'Do It Yourself' projects and 'Artwork' and appreciated my efforts. Many of you contacted me and told me how my blog has inspired you to do something and yes I featured your inspiring work in 'Fan Of The Week' series in my blog.

I was not aware that one can make money through blogging. I was Stay At Home Mother (SAHM) and blogging has transformed me into a Working At Home Mother (WAHM). Now I make money (Dollars, Euros, Rupees and many more currencies) online while sitting in the comfort of my home and taking good care of my child. I have rediscovered myself. I am doing what I love to do and I am enjoying every bit of it. An year ago Dell approached me to write my story about my passion on their microsite and they published it. If you haven't read it earlier click here to read. I got overwhelming responses from all of you for everything I did here. Thank you....thank you so much for always being there for me.
Do you have some dream then don't just dream about it. Put some efforts, get that spark and I am sure you will be able to live your dream. Do what you love or just start loving whatever you do.
If you also have some life changing experiences then please share with me here in comment section I would love to hear from you.........I am all ears!!!

Inspiring Eminent Bloggers: Suganthi

Blogger who is with us today is Suganthi who blogs over at Daydreams. Suganthi is very talented Quilling artist and has been blogging about this art for more than three years now. Her each and every quilling project is so unique and looks masterpiece. You have to see it to believe it.

Welcome Suganthi, I am very excited to have you here on Design Decor & Disha. Please let us know little more about you.
I am a stay at home mother of two teenage boys. I studied to be a computer engineer, after my marriage I started to explore my aptitude for arts and crafts.

When and how you realized your passion about Quilling.
While looking for a tutorial on folding trees website I found a tutorial for a quilled snowflake, I fell in love with quilling that instant, the simplicity of the shapes and the materials used drew me to it. I found even my first pieces being admired and that got me started.

Quilled Floral Pattern
Can you talk about what prompted you to start the blog. In what ways has blogging affected your Quilling.
Me and my son one day in December  2009 just started a blog and posted my first two works just for fun, since starting a blog is so easy, I did not take it seriously until other bloggers started appreciating my work and following me ,Blogging has helped me learn so much in such a short time from other bloggers and from my own experiments. Every quiller has an unique style and bring something fresh to quilling which no one book can give. It is a great learning experience.

Quilled Daisies
What are the tools you use for Quilling.
There are so many new tools for quillers today, I used a slotted tool for rolling but my favorite is a needle tool. I use a needle tool for all my favorite projects.

3D Quilling
Of all your Quilling projects which one is your favorite and why.
My Quilled Durga is my most favorite, it was not easy but I am most happy with it. It is so far my biggest project.

What are the future projects you will be doing.
There are so many techniques which I am yet to try, I would like to do more quillography like my New year post.

What other then Quilling you love to do in your spare time.
I like to read books, sew, learn to crochet and story telling .

Please share the links where we can find your Art work and where my blog readers can get connected with you.
This is where I blog http://papercraftss.blogspot.in/, you can also find me on Facebook

Spring Flowers
Which blogs inspire you and you love to visit them regularly.
Ann Martin's http://www.allthingspaper.net/  is my greatest inspiration. Ann features great paper artists and she is also my quilling inspiration.

Last but not the least, as everyone dreams of being something in life, what you have dreamed of.
I dream of quilling big frame works. I love making quilled jewelry. I would love to grow in that direction .

Thank you Suganthi for being with us. I wish you all the best for your future and may all your wish come true. Now a request to my blog readers to visit Suganthi's lovely blog and shower your love by following and commenting.

Now time to show how I got inspired by Suganthi. Sharing image of quilled heart, more about this in my next post so stay tuned.

Inspiring Eminent Blogger: Himadri Pachori

New year and new beginning.......from today I am starting a very new and of-course interesting series called 'Inspiring Eminent Bloggers'. This series will feature interview of bloggers who have excellence in their field.... interesting isn't it !!
First blogger to feature here who caught my attention and I was totally awestruck by her artwork is very talented and inspiring Himadri Pachori who blogs at My Zen Mode.  Looking  at her blog header itself can give you a fare idea that how talented she is.

Blog Header: By Himadri

Welcome Himadri, I am really very happy to have you here on Design Decor & Disha. Please let me and my blog readers know little more about you.
Thank you so much Disha for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to share my story with your readers. I am 29 years old. I am married to a wonderful and very supportive man. We have a four year old son and currently we are in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. I studied Advertising and Public Relations in college and worked in that field for some years.

Himadri Busy Tangling

When and how you realized that art is your passion and when you started Tangling?
My first memory of Art is of standard one and over the years I found myself getting attracted towards beauty of art, paints, paintings and sketching. But it took me many many years to tell myself that I want to be an artist, that art is very important for me and then voicing these inner desires to the people around me. It was after my marriage five years back that I decided to work on this dream.
In these five years life was very busy. We shifted our home nine times and in different parts of the country + I gave birth to my son in 2008. I shared my love of art with him and enjoyed it thoroughly, although I didn’t paint or drew much for myself. It was only last year (December 2011) that I saw some Zentangle Inspired Artworks on Pinterest and I immediately knew that it was for me. “Leaves from my garden” was my first Tangle work.

Himadri's Beautiful Artwork

How you started writing a blog and how you find blogging?
I started blogging in May 2010 when I started my blog first blog Mum Paints Lives. I started it to journal my kid’s growing up years, to share the art and fun activities we do. I loved it but I have been irregular with my blogging. I am now focusing on my art blog My Zen Mode that I started last year. Blogging is a beautiful way of documenting and it feels really good to go through our older posts. I’d definitely try to be regular with my art blog.

What are the tools you use for Tangling?
I use Micron Pens. For colors I use water colors and acrylics. I work on paper and sometimes on canvas as well.

Lovely Tangles By Himadri
