Do YOU Crave Change?

Do You Crave Change?

I have been working on my son's wedding that is coming up on Nov. 2. I have not shared anything with you because I don't want to spoil the surprise. It's going to be in a barn in Kansas. So far I have made burlap table runners, chalkboards, canning jar looking banner, and 8 men vests. Today, I will be making tags for the wedding party. These tags will go on their

Our Fall Front Porch

Don't you just love when you open a seasonal bin full of Fall "stuff," only to find a forgotten bag from "Michael's" containing garland that you scooped up after the season last year for 75% off?!  I sure do!

Thanks to that forgotten purchase, our front entry got a colorful Fall addition this year!  Of course, I couldn't stop there ...

I had to add in our pumpkin topiaries (that take less than 10 minutes to make) ... they've become part of our Fall family, as I keep bringing them back year after year.

It wouldn't be Fall with a few mums and scattered pumpkins now would it?  And, since this wobbly $8 ladderback chair would undoubtedly collapse if I tried to sit on it, I decided to bring it out here to be part of this simple Fall vignette:

Soon, little trick-or-treaters will be ringing the doorbell (hope they don't attempt to sit on the wobbly chair ... the trick will be on them ... oops)!

And, while I love real pumpkins, I'm liking our faux ones, since they'll last all season (annnd, can't get squished in the road if a Halloween prankster decides to try and be funny)!

Of course, I had to add one of my crazy mesh wreaths for the season ...

which, for a few weeks, has been replaced with a Halloween wreath I made ... gotta have mesh ... and LOTS of it!

Love the garland lit up in the evening!

Oh, and my apologies to our corn stalks ... I had every intention of adding Fall bows to them, BUT, when I went to do so, two large lizards (which, to me, translates to huge dinosaurs) jumped out of one of them, thus, preventing me from wanting to get too close to them ever again (ha).  Maybe next year!

Thanks so much for visiting our Fall front porch!

And, thanks to the gals who invited me to be part of a fun "Fall Porch" tour, where 24 other bloggers and I  are sharing our seasonal entries!

Be sure and visit the other gals ... you're sure to be inspired!!

Bringing Festivity!!

Past few weeks had been super busy. Festival of light 'Diwali' is just
around the corner and I am gearing up to showcase some easy-peasy Diwali DIY & decor ideas.
Here are few clicks of my home during Navratri :)

Did you notice my London railway station clock in above image....scroll down....have a closer look :)

Now what say.... isn't it amazing!! I just love it. The best part is it is two-faced clock and no matter where in my home I'm standing I have view of it :) I got it from Pepperfry.

Here is another view.........

I totally loved the vintage look of this clock.  Moroccan lamp is new addition gifted by dear sister :)

Next post will be an easy DIY for Diwali so stay tuned!!

Tall and Short!

This is the story of two fern stands. One of the stands is tall and has great bones...

But she started out in life a bit drab and on the plain side...

With some added flair on the top (found on The Graphic Fairy), she's now ready for the catwalk...

Then we can't forget the short one that was two pieces of wood married together...

I think the base was really a wooden candle stand.

Walnut Bench To Go Please!

This year I have transformed more pieces of furniture than any other year! I hope you all are not getting bored with more furniture transformations than decorating.

Here we go with this Walnut Bench found in this state...

Very nice lines and very sturdy. Sometimes I want to just leave it as is when it's a good piece of wood but for whatever reason, it just doesn't sell as well in my booth!

Pentas In My Garden

Two years back Pentas was a beautiful addition in my balcony garden and then last year
I don't know what went wrong and it died.
This year I saw few saplings in different pots and  I was super excited to see them back in my garden so I let them grow. When they bloomed I was totally surprised because earlier I had only hot pink Pentas but now they are blooming in three colors.
Hot pink, soft pink and white Pentas.....triple bonanza yay!!! All thanks to butterflies and tiny birds who keep visiting my garden. Here is the hot pink one........

and here is soft pink Pentas a lovely surprise :)

and here is combo of pink..........adding beauty to my garden that has unintentionally turned into an almost  pink garden with pink Bougainvillea, pink Allamanda, pink Petunia and of-course pink Pentas.

and who said white is boring. Look at this looks like stars are making their presence in my garden :) Ahh at least something is other than pink in my small garden now.

and here all the three varieties of Pentas (Pentas because they have five petals). They attract butterflies and hummingbirds too. I have seen hummingbird playing with my flowers a few times in my garden. I am so happy and excited that they are back again and I'll get to see butterflies and hummingbirds again :)

Joy of gardening I must say :)
