Vastu Gyan: Orientation
Earlier I have done one post on Vastu that you can find here. It was an introduction to Vastu. today I am taking this Vastu series forward and this second post will throw light on 'Orientation'.
As it is believed that Vastu Shastra is a perfect understanding of geography, direction, environment, physics, and topography and is a art of placing the correct settings in a manner that yields the maximum benefits.

With a little care in the relative positioning of different rooms in a house one could expect to live a peaceful, happy and prosperous life.
Next post in this Vastu Gyan series will describe about ideal locations of different rooms in house. So do drop by and check out my next post of this series.
Brick Border
What to do with old brick.
We had purchased a bunch of old brick from someone that had to get rid of it. And he sold it to us at a very low price...less than 10¢ per brick.
Initially, we laid this at the end of our driveway for our daughter to park her car when she began driving. Here is a picture of the basket weave design that I laid. It started off level but this area gets really wet in the

Roses, Paint-by-Number!
I picked these, sweetly painted lovelies, up at an estate sale. I have not seen Paint-by-Number art in a long time and thought these were very well done.
They would have started out something like these kits...
I don't even know if you can buy these any longer, but you would get the paints and a brush and just paint each area by the number that coordinated with the number on the board and paint

It's all in the DETAILS!
I wrote a post about our new addition of a two car hobby garage that you can see HERE. However, I wanted to talk about the details that we almost missed...The brick!
The brick masons were here and bricked the new garage with the matching brick on the house. When they completed it, there was a bit of brick left-over and our contractor came by to see the progress. He noticed this...

Spring Buffet ....
As IF I haven't shared our buffet with you enough, I'm sharing it a-GAIN (sorry). Gone are the reds that were splashed around for Winter and in are more soft colors for Spring!
I added a few, inexpensive "newbies" here, too ... can you spot them?
Of course, I kept my fleur-de-lis vase from Willow Tree. I love that it can work with any season and is large enough to hold nice, fat bunches of faux florals!
And, what did we do before glass cloches? My little bird's nest, robins eggs and shredded paper feel quite fancy being showcased like this:
I thought it'd be fun to layer a touch of black in the mix ... this whimsical Subway art (Home Goods ... surprise, surprise) is just the ticket!
And, unfortunately, my paintbrush skipped on over to my birdhouse and gave it a coat of Old White.
To balance the robins eggs on the right side (under the cloche), my OCD-self had to add a splash of blue on the left side, as well. Although, I did break my cardinal odd rule by not adding a third pop of blue. Ugh ... might have to fix that before I convince myself that bad things will happen if I don't!
And, there ya' have it ... simple and welcoming Spring (annnnd, now that I look at this again, I'm surprised I haven't painted the frame yet. Hmmmmm ...)
I love seeing how all of you are *Springifying,* too!
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by,
Becca

When Creative Juices Flow: Coconut Shell Hanging Planter
This project was on mind since long. Executed it recently. I used coconut shells, twine and bangles. Put them altogether and outcome is just superb. I am too happy to see it hanging in my garden and it looks so beautiful.
I planted different creepers in each coconut shell that is serving as planter now.
I am sure that it will going to look just awesome after few months, when planter will be covered with different beautiful foliage.
Can you notice small jingling bells(ghungroo) at the bottom. They make such pleasing sound.
Though I wanted to color shells and wanted to add beads also on twine but I was so in hurry that I didn't wait and just hung it as it is. Probably will make one more with new imagination.
Lot more projects are in queue so drop by frequently and stay creative.
Have a lovely weekend ahead.
