A Floor Lamp to Drool Over!

I recently did a post on this side table

Now I want to show you just how UGLY

This floor lamp started out...

When I saw this piece at a garage sale, I loved the lines of the legs and the double lights. I hated the brass table part. But I had a vision for this.

But wait, be patient with me because I must start at the real beginning.

This lamp was found in this exact

Edgar's Bed!

This story is pure Kismet.

Here's my story as it happened!

In our new hobby garage, we have an attic storage space above with a drop down ladder.

I was up there selecting furniture to bring down to paint.

As I was stacking things up for Hubby to help carry down, I stacked an old vintage leather suitcase on top of this...

I noticed that the suitcase fit the top of this stool base

Walnut Bench To Go Please!

This year I have transformed more pieces of furniture than any other year! I hope you all are not getting bored with more furniture transformations than decorating.

Here we go with this Walnut Bench found in this state...

Very nice lines and very sturdy. Sometimes I want to just leave it as is when it's a good piece of wood but for whatever reason, it just doesn't sell as well in my booth!

Charming Painted Upholstered Chair

I have jumped on

                                the band wagon of

painted upholstered chairs

that are out there on other blogs.

Doesn't that just sound crazy?

But I had to give it a try and I'll admit,
                it came out lovely!

Shall we begin? Here is what the chair looked like when I purchased it at a garage sale.

I asked my daughter if she

Song Book Table

Such a cute table with a fun scallop and cut-outs. When I saw it at a garage sale, all dirty and falling apart, I just had to have it to play with! You know, "do my thing"!

After Hubby helped me reglue it, I decided to paint it two tone with ASCP French Linen and Old White.

The top was begging for something different than just paint, so I opted for old song book pages!

The shelf

A Tisket, A Tasket, A Picnic Basket!

A tisket,

A tasket,

A really cute,

Picnic Basket!

I purchased this at a local auction.

In nice shape for it's age, but boring! You know I don't do boring. I thought that I could attract buyers to it with local towns painted on the top.

These are great for storage!

Vintage Sewing Cabinet

Wow,

 I adore

how this

 transformation

 came out!

At a local estate auction right around the corner from my home, I picked up this sweet sewing cabinet for $5!

The top drawer pulls out as expected, but what was unexpected was the second drawer...It is on a swivel to expose an area for threads and needles.

The top had some damage which after fixing the veneer, made

Gorgeous Shelving Unit

I am very drawn to these types of shelving units.

I realize that these are Victorian and my style of decorating is certainly not Victorian.

But it's the romance of the curves...

And the spindles that gets me every time!

This was ripe for the picking at a garage sale last weekend. Pay close attention to the feet...Wrong!

Someone had tried to fix them with

Wicker Drawer Stand

I happened upon a wicker drawer stand that caught my eye at a garage sale.

The price was right

So I bought it

But the piece could use a bit of a design lift.

This is what it looked like when I purchased it...

It had a bit of chipping of the paint, otherwise it was in great, sturdy condition. I wanted to bring it up a notch though.

I painted just the wood body (sans the

Side Table Renew!

Do you remember this side table with drawer?

No?

Well, let me jog your memory...

Remember this?

It is the side table that had the broken leg. HERE is the post where I gave a tutorial on how I fixed this leg. I will give you a glance at the original table that I purchased, not knowing that the leg was broken...

After fixing the leg, I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Ochre

Wood Lamp

Humor me here...

I love making lamps...

I love making chandeliers...

Any kind of lighting that's creative...

Maybe I've missed a calling!

I found this lamp on Wayfair... and thought it was very cool.

In my stash, I found a wooden piece that I purchased at a garage sale years ago. It was a homemade candle holder and I was always going to do make something with it. Well now was

A Tufted Beauty!

Meet the new stool in my life!

This one is full of charm, like most of them are, however, this one is tufted and oh so soft.

I first met this gal at a summer garage sale. She spoke to me when I passed her, but I paid little attention. I was on the hunt for something else.

Then, I looked down and saw her...

She was ripped and tired of her overcoat and she was even broken underneath. I

Meet Lacey!

See why I call this bookcase 'Lacey'?

It has really pretty cut-outs that make it look that way to me.

The bookcase came to my door looking like this...

I loved the lines of this piece and knew what I was going to do with it. But first, I need to remind you about this previous bookcase...

See the before where someone had painted it and it was pink on the inside. I found out
