The Re-Roofing of my Cupola

Remember seeing this beauty?Well, two things happened.1) After a couple of years with this plastic tinlook sheets that I used for roofing, began to fade and crack! And 2) My birthday rolled around again. What that means is my Hubby does not give me gifts, he gives me himself for the day. I get to ask him to do whatever I want and he does it. So I asked him if we could re-roof the...

Glimpse of my patio and yard

It has been brought to my attention that you have not seen much of my yard and gardens this summer.  So with that in mind, you can get a glimpse of the yard while I am showing you our new patio furniture. Once I sat in them at Sam's Club, I was hooked! We waited for them to go on sale and then bought them. I don't regret a minute of this decision. The furniture is so comfortable and...

From Fountain to Pond

Remember this homemade bubbler fountain, right off our back patio?...I made it by sinking a huge plastic tote in the ground, covering it with three barbecue grill grates and topping it off with rock and a rock-looking fiberglass form. That was after plumbing a hose connecting a fountain pump in the water. It was a nice sound but I longed for something louder, bigger...Enter...

When something gets in my Hubby's head,It's got to be done!Whatever IT is!!He has an attraction to old street pavers...Hubby has been collecting these old pavers with words on them for a few years. His plan, to use them to build a patio. We have a cement patio, so no, not there. He was thinking out at the back of our yard under a tree where we have a swing on an...

Garden Teacup Chandy

Do you remember this teacup CANDLEIER that I made and did a post on last year? No?I had stripped the old electric wires out of it, added these lovely teacups after painting the chandelier. I thought it came out lovely and put it in my antique mall booth. And it didn't sell. I figured that people want electrified ones, since those sell in my booth. So I brought this one home.I hung it...

Watermelon Slice Anyone?

I found a great piece to go with my famously painted Watermelon Propane Tank...The lady that I paid $1 to for this watermelon slice said that, in 1970, a Sycamore tree was cut down and she kept this slice and painted it to look like a watermelon. Isn't it perfect in front of my propane tank? These parties I love to link up to or check out my Blog Parties tabParty Time @ It's So Very...

A Living Fence!

Several years ago, we planted some honeysuckle next to our back fence row. We purchased it from Lowes and it's called Hall's Honeysuckle and it's known for it's wonderful old-fashioned smell.Hubby has made it his stress-releaving hobby to guide the vines in each direction. And even built a way for the honeysuckle to arch over a gate and cute log cabin. It smells so good when the...

Lavender and A Cardinal

It's harvest time here for my Lavender!Dried and wrapped in old songbook pages! If you study this picture below, you will see a yellow painted birdcage hanging from a hook by our swing. As I was sitting out on the patio, I spied a red cardinal sitting on the hook and it just struck me as funny since it was by the birdcage. I was able to snap a quick picture. These parties I love to link up...
