Framed Rose Print Serendipity!

To me, it is serendipity when things just fall into place or when I am at the right place, at the right time. This is the case with my framed rose print.I came across a beautiful old rose print that had damaged edges and the previous owner folded the sides to make it fit another frame. I have a thing for roses, especially vintage.I knew that I would need to sacrifice some of the print if...

New Cool Rug!

What I didn't share with you when I revealed my newly painted master bedroom (see that HERE), was the area at the foot of the bed that has just enough room for a 3' x 5' rug.Yes, I could go a bit bigger but the hand scraped elm hardwood floors are so beautiful that I wanted to see more of them. I just wanted something to accent the floor. So, have you heard of WUSLU? (http://www.wuslu.com/)...

When Creative Juices Flow: Buddha's Got New Look

Few months back I got two Buddhas from a art and craft exhibition. One is made of brass, no scope for trying hand on it though :-(  and the other one is of terracotta (a lot can be done). Idea of painting this terracotta piece was in my mind since the day I bought it.Here is...

My eyes can no longer stand hours of those tiny x's. So this blog is a tribute to my cross-stitch eggs. I started making these eggs the year...

The Nest Is Best!

This is a quick little craft that took me no time.It started with a vintage white ironstone Johnson Brothers gravy boat and attached oval saucer. NOTE: This saucer was attached by the manufacturer and can not be removed.I really loved the lines and color of this piece and instead of selling it in my booth, I decided to make it into... a sweet nesting complete with eggs. All I had to...

New Kitchen Valance!

I really do like the valances that I made recently for my dining room bay window. You can see more on that HERE. This large bay window is located next to the bar between the kitchen and dining room or breakfast room as some people call it.  I decided that since I had enough leftover fabric, that I should make a matching valance for my kitchen window. This would allow me to have a different s...

My beloved Maternal Grandmother passed away a year ago at the ripe old age of 93. My mother was her only child. Mom just mailed Grandma's pictures that she divided up between us, her 5 daughters, and here are some really old and interesting pictures that I received. My Grandpa (Alfred Joseph Heimerman) and Grandma (Dorothy Rose Nigg) 1936 wedding picture. ReArranged Guest Bedroom

Recently, I shopped my own house for furniture for my newly painted master bedroom. You can see more on that HERE. But you all know what that does. It causes a void in the room you stole the furniture piece from. Therefore, I had to rearrange my blue guest bedroom a bit. By the way, I call this guest bedroom blue, because the ceiling and the bedding and some accent pieces are blue.Basically,...

Frustrating to make curtains for when the look you...
