Christmas Tree Banner & Stocking

While decorating my main Christmas Tree this year, I chose to go red and natural...

Natural by adding Quail

A twig Star

And I made this cloth banner...

On a trip to Kansas City, we stopped by Nell Hill's, a fabulous decor and furniture store like no other! The prices are great too! I picked up a yard of this fabric...

Not knowing what I was going to do with it, I put it

The Cutest Wool Trees

One of the favorite things
that I do every year
to get myself in the
Spirit of Christmas
is go to an Open House at a local natural crafts store called
Ohio Street Originals.

This post is not about this store (but you can see an old post I did on that store HERE)

What this post is about are the fun and adorable little wool trees that I discovered there and how to make them!

Ticking In Time for Christmas

As my mind was

dreaming up

a new way to display

my Christmas decor

(It's boring if it's put up the same way every year, don't you think?)

I decided that I needed

a new runner

for my buffet...

I had picked up some black and white ticking for another project that I didn't end up using it for, so this fabric was available in my stash to use.

I wanted to have it hang

Creative Nativity Display

It all started this summer when my son gave me a single, huge elk antler. I knew that I wanted to use it for my Christmas display with greenery but the rest came as I was working on getting the loads of Christmas decor out to decorate...

I had seen a Nativity scene on Pinterest inside a cloche and knew that would be happening in my home!

This summer garage sales allowed me to locate a

Christmas Greenery Dress Form Tutorial

Want to make this?

Here is what you will need.
1) Some kind of dress form, large or small. I picked this one up at a garage sale for $2.
2) Fake Greenery. Amount depends on size of dress form. I picked this up at a garage sale for 25¢.
3) Ribbon
4) Hot glue gun

I measured ribbon around the waist of the dress form and pinned my measurements, but left the ribbon long enough to tie.

Cute Skate Ornament and More!

As every Christmas draws near, I hand make an ornament for each of my kids and grandkids. Of course Hubby and myself too.

This year, I was reminded of a fun day we had at a local skate and game place.

That brought me to come up with making a felt shoe. The wheels are sewing machine bobbins and each is decorated with felt holly and greenery. I always tag them with the date and name.

I hope

A Bit More Of A MacKenzie Childs Christmas

Based on my last post about getting rid of some of my overloaded Christmas decor, it was a split on people that believe that you can't have too much Christmas decor and others like me that want to simplify the huge process of storing so much stuff for 11 months out of the year and then killing themselves with putting it all out in record time to enjoy for...a month!

This year, not only

Christmas In The Livingroom

This year I realized something...

 I have been OVER-DOING Christmas!

Way to much Christmas decor

Crammed in ALL areas to a claustrophobic proportion.

It looked like someone had thrown-up Christmas!

I decided, it had to stop!

So from now on

I am going to do a lighter touch

Of Christmas decor in my home.

I asked myself, WHY?
Why am I doing so much Christmas

Songbook Page Christmas Tree

I have a wreath that I made using rolled music book pages...

And thought, "Hey why not make another shape out of the same rolled up pages".

Plus, I wanted to show you early enough so that you could make one for Christmas if you so felt the desire!

I started with a clear plastic cone shape like this, but you can use any cone made out of different material like heavy card stock...

Putz House & Tie Skirt

Since all the decorating is done,

I have been having a bit of fun.

I have always wanted to make a cute little paper house. In doing research on them, I found out the name of these sweet houses are putz houses.

I googled them and came across a pattern to use. I used this pattern...

I think it came out so cute and was a fun little glitter project.

My Take on A MacKenzie Childs Tree

I am thankful to be blog friends with Patti over at Pandora's Box.
She actually lives close to MacKenzie Childs farm and has even worked in their store this past year! Oh what a dream! Patti shared with me the actual tree that they had decorated in the store last year...

I think it is just 2-die-4 wonderful and whimsical. So this year I thought I would work even harder to replicate it than I
