No Befores, Just Afters

Every once in a while, I get in a hurry and forget to take a before picture. That is the case with this table.

Someone did the work of stripping it down and refinishing it, but with the norm in my booth, if I don't do something different with a piece of furniture, it just sits there not selling!

The top was pretty with the wood inlay...

So I simply paint the legs with Annie Sloan's French

Song Book Table

Such a cute table with a fun scallop and cut-outs. When I saw it at a garage sale, all dirty and falling apart, I just had to have it to play with! You know, "do my thing"!

After Hubby helped me reglue it, I decided to paint it two tone with ASCP French Linen and Old White.

The top was begging for something different than just paint, so I opted for old song book pages!

Side Table Renew!

Do you remember this side table with drawer?

No?

Well, let me jog your memory...

Remember this?

It is the side table that had the broken leg. HERE is the post where I gave a tutorial on how I fixed this leg. I will give you a glance at the original table that I purchased, not knowing that the leg was broken...

After fixing the leg, I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Ochre

A Bread Box and A Table

I will start with the bread box...

Below is how I purchased it at a garage sale...

Simple redo, just cleaning and a bit of Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint later.

Now on to the table. This was a kit from our local discount store that was still in its original box when I purchased it at a garage sale...they had never opened it and it was many years old.

I glued and screwed it

Tables, Tables, Tables

Here are a few tables that  I recently transformed.

1. Wicker Tray Table

I transformed it by painting the scared up top and just the lower part of the legs with Annie Sloan Old Ochre Chalk Paint.

What a great house warming gift to the young couple that are taking such good care of my rental house!

2. Double Tier Side Table

Under the glass is faux paint to look like a wood design

Heart?

Well, that is what happened when I found this huge bird cage table! Who ever sees something like this? I know I don't.

I just had to have it and the best part is, it was very inexpensive since I found it at a garage sale!

But when I got it home, I had to figure out where to put it!

Abandoned Tables Made New Again!

I have been beating the weather clock, so to speak! Colder weather is upon us here in Illinois and I have been trying to get any larger pieces of furniture painted, out in the new hobby garage, since it is not heated.

I received four oak tables that needed an update. A sofa table, an oval coffee table and two matching side end tables. They were dirty, abandoned and crying out for some love...

Birds on a Wire!

I have a soft spot in my heart for birds.

 Do you too?

With that in mind, I painted a curvy end table to look a bit French and well, you'll see!

Now you see why I call this table Birds on a Wire! Top color is Annie Sloan Old White Chalk Paint, legs and skirting are painted AS Paris Gray! Off to the mall booth with this so someone can fall in love and have it for their home.

Three Tier Table Transformed

A new antique table has entered my life and invaded my living room! I fell in love with it upon first sight even though it didn't look it's best...

The best part, other than bringing it home and transforming it was it's price...at 70% off, Yeah! (Here you can see I was gluing the loose veneer back on when I took the before picture.)
I decided on Annie Sloan's Old White

Two cool Tables!

Crazy story but true,

As hubby and I were on our way home from our daughter's new house across town, a guy was putting these two tables out on the street corner!

The curbside picker that I have known to be, had hubby stop and I asked what he was doing with them. He told me that he was moving and didn't have room for them and that I could have them. He even loaded them in the pickup!

Sit and Stripe

Here are two small pieces of furniture that I had a little fun with...

I painted this with Annie Sloan French Linen Chalk Paint at the base and Old White stripes.

This little chair is what I call junior size. It's not as small as a child's chair but not an adult size either.

I painted this sweet chair with Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue Chalk Paint then dry brushed it with Paris Gray to

Crazy Good Transformation!

This cabinet turned out crazy good and could be used for so many things.

A neighbor who knows that I transform furniture asked me if I would like to purchase this piece and do something fun with it.

Upon seeing it, I knew it would be more challenging than just painting it. But I was up for the task.

This is what it looked like when I bought it from her...

Someone had added the V

Oh so French End Tables!

Do you love the French Look as much as I do?

Do you also love the look of a finished piece after it was painted and loved with Chalk Paint?

So do I! That brings me to these to end tables...

I picked these two tables up at a garage sale because they just spoke to me. They said, "Take me home and show me how to look lovely in French Frocks!" I listened and I heard. So out came the

Fern Stand Table

I found a rather yucky fern stand with great lines and a cheap price...

$1,

so I knew that I couldn't pass it up.

This is the before picture...

Yucky right? Well, I did some painting & creating and this is the shabby outcome of my efforts!

Now, it's just a sweet bedside lamp table. After a new top, I painted black and white check on the inside only of the legs and added swirls

My Favorite Projects of 2011

I really can't believe how many projects that I completed in 2011, mostly because of this blog. I feel the need to continually show you something new and different that I have made or transformed. Later, you can check out my Before & Afters tab at the top of my blog page.

I decided to look back at what I have done, and pick my 12 favorite ones and tell you why...in no particular order.

Cherry Blossom Table

It's different

It's petite

It's oak

It's old

I cleaned it up, decoupaged sheet music on top and painted a Cherry Blossom branch.

Haley's Night Stand

It's funny...life.

Things happen and then they come back around again.

What am I talking about?

A couple of years ago, someone gave me four wooden finials. She new that I re-purposed things and might have a use for them.

Fast forward to garage sale season. I found this night stand...and I knew I could make it into something fun but I hated the legs and drawer knob. Out went the knob and off

Inlaid Table ~ Deja-vu

I just experienced Deja-vu, but this was REAL not an illusion of feeling. I am talking about two tables that have come into my life with-in a month of each other but miles apart. Here is my first one...
I am sure my blog followers remember this one. See the before shot? Notice the top and how the inlay was so far gone that it couldn't be saved? You also see my solution for its rebirth.

Twin Night Stands

I have a special little friend. His name is Jace and he is so handsome. Meet Jace.
I have been helping his Mommy decorate their new home (I will share it all with you soon). One of the things that was needed were two night stands for Jace's room.  I found these two at a recent garage sale.

With a little cleaning, sanding and painting. Plus some perfect new knobs, they are ready for Jace's fun
