New Kitchen Valance!

I really do like the valances that I made recently for my dining room bay window. You can see more on that HERE. This large bay window is located next to the bar between the kitchen and dining room or breakfast room as some people call it.  I decided that since I had enough leftover fabric, that I should make a matching valance for my kitchen window. This would allow me to have a different summer

Quick Change Beauty!

Do you ever feel like a Quick Change?

One that will make an impact that is pretty, easy and with 'stuff' that you already have on hand.

That is the case with this fun project. I was admiring my newly painted master bedroom (you can see more on that HERE), and I decided that it was time for a bit more change. I have a vintage oval frame from a garage sale that I painted white and added my

Easter Dining Room

Happy Saturday! Are you all pulling out or adding to your Easter/Spring decor this weekend?   I know I am!

I feel like I show you all the same rooms over and over again.   My apologies, and, well, why stop now, right?  LOL

Here are pics of our Easter dining room:

Soft pops of color have been added:

Cream speckled eggs and robin eggs (both from Pottery Barn) mix well with pink eggs (from Dollar Tree) and simple raffia.  I filled the hurricanes with inexpensive raffia from Michael's):

I traded out the animal print runner for a *Spring-y* blue one (from Home Goods) ... love the pop of color there:

And, you may remember these little fellas (from Pier One):

Speaking of blue ... I traded out a few of our white plates on the floating shelves and added ones with a bit of color (from TJMaxx):

Aren't they pretty:

I can't believe how much blue I'm adding around the house!

One last shot ... all lit up.  I can't tell you how much we love our new chandie, especially its reflection in the mirror!

Hope everyone has a great day ... we're off to kiddo's last basketball game and then "The Lorax!"

My History

My beloved Maternal Grandmother passed away a year ago at the ripe old age of 93. My mother was her only child. Mom just mailed Grandma's pictures that she divided up between us, her 5 daughters, and here are some really old and interesting pictures that I received.

ReArranged Guest Bedroom

Recently, I shopped my own house for furniture for my newly painted master bedroom. You can see more on that HERE. But you all know what that does. It causes a void in the room you stole the furniture piece from. Therefore, I had to rearrange my blue guest bedroom a bit. By the way, I call this guest bedroom blue, because the ceiling and the bedding and some accent pieces are blue.

Basically,
